The winter solstice can be a time of darkness, stagnation, and a sort of end-year malaise. When that Times Square ball drops at midnight on the new year, however, our consciousness tends to shift: we think about what we have done over the last year and what we may want out of the next. It is a time for taking stock, adding up the plusses and subtracting the minuses, with a forward-facing position towards what’s to come. This year's box was curated with this in mind, and with the intent to help assist with replenishing one's spirit as we tread closer towards the spring and into the new year.

• WHY WOULD I WANT IT?: A classic in any witch’s repertoire, this beautiful bell is a treat of sight and sound.

BREAKDOWN
One of the more commonly recognized tools within the craft (and Wicca particularly) is the altar bell. With its ties to purification and clearing one’s space, we thought it would make a perfect addition to this year’s Imbolc Sabbat Box. This gorgeous brass bell is decorated with symbols that represent both feminine and masculine aspects of the divine. It contains triple moons (signifying the Goddess in all her aspects), and fixed atop its handle is a horizontal crescent moon (symbolic of the horns of the God). Many practitioners use bells to signify or mark particular moments within ritual or spellwork, such as the opening and closing of the circle, calling the four quarters, or to chime the moment of exercised intent. This bell can be used for such or as an all-around tool to bring higher vibrational energy within your sacred space to purify and banish negativity. A soft chime of a bell can be used to cleanse an area where you may not want or cannot use smoke or smudge. A harder tolling can represent the high vibration energy necessary for banishment. A bell is also considered to be a correspondence of the element of air, and can mark this element on a Wiccan altar.

BREAKDOWN
For a box dedicated to purification and spiritual replenishment, we thought it would be a nice idea to include another popular altar fixture to add within our members’ spiritual toolbox: the quartz tower. Clear quartz, unsurprisingly, corresponds to clarity, both in energy and communication. While quartz crystal itself is generally seen as a stone of universal intention (as it is the culmination of all the colors of the rainbow like a prism, which many believe includes all aspects of all other stones), it also brings its specific significance of transparency and purity with its translucent brilliance. In the form of a tower, it stands in for both masculine or phallic energies and is honorarium to the divine (as it points “upward”), as well as a striking illustration of a sword cutting air or division of space. Many crystal workers and practitioners recognize the energy-attracting power of the tower shape as a source of strength, stability, and power. These stunning towers are a perfect addition to any altar or sacred space, and can be used as a focal point for higher energy work and divination.

Spring cleaning goes hand in hand with Imbolc, and what better to include in a purification themed Sabbat Box than an item to help cleanse your sacred space! Earthen Alchemy’s Sacred Altar Wash is a complex blend of herbs and oils that can be used to not only cleanse your altar or space spiritually, but is great to use as a literal cleaner (just be sure to test surface before use). BREAKDOWN
Sun’s Eye’s new Ancient Elements incense collection just came out, and contains 12 different hand crafted incense. We opted to include one of 4 of the 12 varieties in each Sabbat Box to aid with purification and cleansing one’s space (sandalwood, jasmine, dragon’s blood, and frankincense). They’re each made using the “masala tradition” which consists of grinding and mixing powdered herbs, resins, and oils together to form a dough, and then are hand rolled onto the bamboo and coated in aromatic wood powder. Which variety speaks to you? Which variety is your favorite? As with all items by Sun's Eye, these incense are of exceptional quality, and will quickly become your favorite incense to use for ritual or meditation.

PACKING & SHIPPING: Part of the costs of your box include the box and the packing material itself. The items listed below account for a good portion of the overall costs for the Imbolc Sabbat Boxes. Each Imbolc Sabbat Box is lined with paper padding and wrapping to add to the surprise of what we’ve curated for you. Shipping is also included in the total price for Sabbat Boxes. The average cost to ship boxes is roughly $9.50. Also, we here at Sabbat Box wish to be as environmentally friendly that we can be and do our best to source packing supplies and material from companies that have the same beliefs we do, in that we want to make as little of an impact as possible on the environment, while also keeping the content of your boxes safe as they make their journey to you. 

BOXES: Your boxes where made from high quality corrugated paper and are 100% recyclable. Please try to find another use for your box. They are 9x9x3 on the inside. You could decorate your box to hold some magickal supplies or use it again to ship something to someone or save it for another time when you may need it. If you have to get rid of it, please try to recycle it.

BROCHURES: Your brochures are printed on recyclable 16pt paper, which is sourced from sustainable forests.

TISSUE PAPER & FILLING: The tissue paper inside is made from 100% recycled paper and is recyclable. The colored filler inside each box is made from scraps of recycled colored crinkle paper and is biodegradable. The filler comes from an eco friendly, woman owned company. 

STICKERS: The stickers found within your boxes where printed on vinyl with a gloss laminate.

TIME: We take pride in assembling each and every Sabbat Box by hand, no matter the amount of time it takes. We don't just throw your items inside a flat rate priority mail box like some other subscription box companies out there. We want your Sabbat Box to be delivered to you as beautifully as it left us, and it takes a tremendous amount of time to complete this task.

This includes folding the boxes together, individually cutting each sheet of tissue paper by hand, weighing out the crinkle paper for each box, designing the flyers, coupons, stickers and brochures to be printed professionally by commercial printers, individually placing each item within their corresponding bags, individually assembling the boxes, individually packing the tissue paper within each box by hand and also putting together and creating product packing. This timeframe doesn't even include the efforts made to manage the Sabbat Box website, the back end billing system, social media management, customer service inquiries, accounting, marketing, purchasing, networking, and so on. This is a labor of love and we enjoy serving the community!


We believe in what it is we are doing and we sincerely hope that each and every one of you can see that the purest of intent and utmost care goes into curating each Sabbat Box.
